The unit has a non-rotating chuck through which a piston, or any other percussion system, imparts hammer-like blows to various types of accessories such as chisels, spades, picks, backfill tamping pads, and frost wedges. When provided with certain attachments, the unit may also be used as a sheeting and piling driver, drift bolt driver, or spike driver.
